This August at The Maya Kitchen: “Authentic Thai Flavors “

Do you like eating in Thai restaurants? If you, have you already tried Jatujak (cha-tu-chak) restaurant? If yes and you actually enjoyed the food there, then you’re not alone because Jatujak is one of my favorite Thai cuisine dining places as well.

And now, I learned that there’s a way for you to know the Jatujak food secrets and get tips on how to make their signature dishes.

Chef Tum is the Executive chef of Jatujak. In 1986, she started the popular “Taste of Thailand” at Makati’s Mile Long Center. She then also dabbled with private catering, until she opened Thai Ming in Davao City, the first Thai restaurant in Mindanao, back in 2001.

This August 4 at the Maya Kitchen, Chef Tum of Jatujak will be demonstrating some Thai Specialties like Yam Pla Duk Foo (Crispy Cat Fish Salad), Tom Yum Goong (Spicy Prawn Soup), Pho Pia Sod (Spring Roll), Pad Thai (Noodles), Kao Pad Pla Kem (Thai Rice), Keang Kiew Wan (Green Chicken Curry), Kanom Tacoh (Tapioca Pudding) and Tab-Tim Krob (Water Chestnut w/ Coconut Cream).

Chef Tum will be assisted by his son, Sandy, (also a profesional chef) this coming August 4 at the Maya Kitchen Thai cuisine demo class.

FYI : This native of Thailand now holds court as Executive Chef of Jatujak (cha-tu-chak). The name pertains to the largest weekend market in the world located in the heart of Bangkok. The market is considered a mecca to bargain hunters and lovers of Thai food. Jatujak Thai Restaurant is located in Mall of Asia, the Block at SM North EDSA, Megamall and ADB.

Let’s savor the unique taste of Thai cooking on August 4, Saturday, 9am to 1pm at The Maya Kitchen as Chef Tum Supawade Lungtip of Jatujak Thai Restaurant shares the secrets of this fabled cuisine.
