I was curious when a friend of mine was selling her Tuyo Flakes in Olive oil over facebook. I bought a jar since it’s not that expensive. 180 pesos a jar? Not bad right? I’ve been fond of experimenting on pasta in garlic and olive oil for months now but this time with tomatoes and Tuyo Flakes (salted dried herring). Well, it went well so far. Since tuyo is already salty, I didn’t add any salt to this recipe, just pepper to taste. It is very easy to adjust the saltiness of this recipe just by adding grated Parmesan or cheddar cheese. I was really shocked that I ran out of rice at home. I know it’s really hard to think of something to cook without pairing it to steam rice.
