Sampaguita Festival 2011 (San Pedro, Laguna) Schedule

This is San Pedro’s week long festival which includes various activities ranging from cultural to sports, trade fairs, amateur singing contest, parades, historical exhibits, social & religious gatherings, tribal dance & sports exhibitions.

San Pedro holds the record of laying the longest Sampaguita (flower lei) line spanning 3.6 km (2 mi), from Biñan City-San Pedro boundary to San Pedro-Muntinlupa City boundary on the National Highway, making them listed in the Guinness Book Of World Records in 2009.

Here’s the final schedule of Sampaguita Festival town fiesta of San Pedro Laguna.

San Pedro Sampaguita Festival 2011 Events

Day 1 – February 18 (Friday)

  • Sampaguita Mobile Passporting 2011

8:00AM – 5:00PM San Pedro Central School
Processing of 200 passport applicants by DFA Regional Office on February 18 San Pedro Central School

  • Talentadong San Pedronians

6:00PM – Town Plaza
A competition patterned after the popular television talent search Talentadong Pinoy. Awards and Prizes will be given to winners.

Day 2 – February 19 (Saturday)

  • Pa-kwela (Parada ng mga Eskwela)

7:00AM – 9:00AM Route: Rizal St., Sto. Niño, San Antonio, Gateway, National Highway, Marketplace, Town Plaza, Rizal, Anchoriz, Luna
Mardi Gras Parade of public and private schools in San Pedro. To be participated in by students (grade 5 up), teachers, school officials and staff and PTAs.

  • Natatanging San Pedronians and the Top 50 Taxpayers

Gabi ng Parangal
7:00PM – Bellevue Hotel
Recognintion Night for Natatanging San Pedronians and San Pedro’s Top Taxpayers

  • Artista vs Artistahin Basketball Game

6:00PM – Town Plaza
Exhibition basketball game featuring Movie Actors and Liga ng mga Kagawad of San Pedro, Laguna. Sponsored by Cong. Dan S. Fernandez

Day 3 – February 20 (Sunday)

  • San Pedro Sampaguita Duathlon

6:00AM – Route: Barangays San Vicente, Nueva, Poblacion, Sto. Niño and Poblacion
5K Run – 20K Bike – 5K Run to be participated in by the Philippines’ Champion Duathletes.

  • Inauguration of Guam Pediatric Ward in GALIC

10:00AM – Barangay Narra
Blessing and inauguration of a Guam Pediatric Ward at the Gavino Alvarez Lying-In Center (GALIC). A project by the 9 Guam Sister Towns. With special participation of local officials of Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya

  • Guam Humanitarian Project

11:00AM – Southville 3A, Barangay San Antonio
A Humanitarian Project by Guam sister towns for indigent residents of Southville 3A.

  • 1st Sampaguita Youth Day

8:00AM onwards – Rose & Cheche Sports Complex, Barangay San Roque and Town Plaza.
Day-long festival for the youth, with games, henna tattooing, fun activities, art, and music.

Day 4 – February 21 (Monday)

  • San Pedro Sampaguita Festival at Umagang Kay Ganda (ABS-CBN Ch.2)

5:30AM – Town Plaza
Showcase of Sampaguita Festival for national television and The Filipino Channel. To include Street Dancing, Unity Lei, Sampaguita Pangkabuhayan products exhibit and Lei making contest.

  • Brass Band SERENATA

6:00PM – San Pedro Town Plaza
Two imported Brass Bands (in full regalia) will play excellent brass band music with choreography and majorette exhibition.
Day 5 – February 22 (Tuesday)

  • Brass Band Parade

8:00AM – Town Plaza
Parade of imported and local Brass Bands around the main thoroughfares within the Town Proper.

  • Town Fiesta Mass

10:00AM – San Pedro Apostol Church
The traditional concelebrated mass presided by the Bishop of San Pablo and the entire Laguna clergy (with participation by Guam Mayors).

  • Remote Telecast of Juan for All, All for Juan Segment of Eat Bulaga

12:00NN – San Roque
Live segment of the popular noontime show Eat Bulaga on GMA-7.

  • 2011 Grand Parade (With Street Dancing Competition and Manok ni San Pedro Exhibit)

1:00PM Route: Pacita Complex 1, Landayan, San Roque, Sto. Niño, Nueva, Poblacion, Town Plaza
Traditional civic-cultural multi-sectoral parade, with street dancing, floats, brass bands and colorful and unique costumes.

  • Fiesta Procession

6:00PM – Luna, Rizal
Traditional religious procession in honor of San Pedro’s patron saint.

  • Flores de Pebrero

6:00PM – Luna, Rizal
A Flores-de Mayo style parade of San Pedro’s young men and women and children.

  • Musical Jamboree

8:00PM – Town Plaza
Traditional musical and variety show with singing, dancing, comedy skits, circus numbers, etc.

    Lecheng fiesta yan, huwag nyo namang gamitin ang mga national highways!!! Pati kaming mga taga Poblacion, Muntinlupa apektado sa kagaguhan nyo!!! Wala kaming masakyan papasok sa trabaho!!!
