I really had fun and great time attending my first marathon event. Its really a big effort in my part to wake up as early as 4AM just for me to prepare for my first run. I’m not really used to run nor to jog and be with lots of people running that’s why I decided to participated only on the 3 kilometer category.
The RUN FOR HOME: Globe-Ayala Land City Run for Habitat for Humanity was slated on July 19, 2009, Sunday at 5 AM at the Bonifacio Global City. It offers 3-kilometer, 5-kilometer, 10-kilometer and 21-kilometer runs that will make use of the new Bonifacio Global City to Makati Central Business District route. This run will supported Habitat for Humanity to benefit the KapitBisig Para sa Ilog Pasig Project.
The event organizer brings the disposable electronic timing chips to the Philippines to track the running time of participants to the RUN FOR HOME β a first for the running event in the country. The disposable electronic timing chips are miniature transponders in a specially designed plastic housing. These are used in popular international marathons where the chip is attached to a runnerβs shoelace and in triathlons where is placed as an ankle bracelet. I got curious on this, honest.
The “Championchip” or the so called “electronic timing chip”
