One of the most awaited awaited competition in the heart of Manila is the Manila’s Aliwan Fiesta. Manila’s Aliwan Fiesta is an annual competition of various street performers that dances during their town festivals.
Manilenos are so lucky to bring these festival performers here in Manila. They don’t need to travel that far just to witness these performers show their talent in acrobatic and grace in dancing.
Competitors came from different provinces of the Philippines. From Luzon, Visayas and as far as Mindanao.
First performance held at the front of the fountain area of SM Mall of Asia in the late afternoon were judges scores their dance.
Aliwan Fiesta is divided into three categories: Cultural Street Dance Competition (the main event), Float Parade, and Reyna ng Aliwan (Queen of Aliwan) beauty pageant.
The parade starts at SM Mall of Asia after their performance at the front of the fountain area, then they perform again for their final performance in front of the Aliw theater near the CCP (cultural Center of the Philippines) complex.
Manila’s Aliwan Fiesta is organized by CCP (Cultural Center of The Philippines), MBC (Manila Broadcasting Company) and the cities of Manila and Pasay.
