Summer is fast approaching here in the Philippines, temperature is rising. In short, longer air conditioning time for us. The longer we use our air conditioner, the higher our consumption of electricity, and the higher consumption of electricity, the higher the electricity bill.
So how can we lower our monthly electricity bill? I’ve discovered a simple way and I hope it helps! Hehe!
Here is a checklist of what you should know in looking for an air conditioning unit that fits your room.
There are various types of air conditioning units. You should be careful in choosing the most appropriate one for your room. The larger the room, the greater the air conditioning horse power is required. Do ask the store sales agent for the unit details to make sure you’re buying the right one.
What type of air conditioning unit appropriate to my room?
Window type air conditioner is the most commonly used air conditioner for single rooms. This unit is installed in a slot made in the wall of the room, or often a window sill. It is usually available in .5hp to 2hp.
Split type air conditioner comprises of two parts: the outdoor unit and the indoor unit. For this unit you donβt have to make any slot in the wall of the room. usually 1hp and above
There’s also the Packaged type air conditioner. There are several types of Package air conditioning unit. It can be mounted on the wall or ceiling and there is the refrigerator type which is usually seen in air conditioned restaurants. These units are available in 1 toner and above.
Note: As much as possible, do not put the compressor part of the air conditioning unit directly to the sun or to a non ventilated area.
Care for the unit
If you have a previously installed air condition unit that’s been with you for years, make sure it is cleaned regularly by a professional. Annual cleaning is recommended if you frequently use your air conditioner. A clean unit can run efficiently and it can also last longer. Never over use the unit.
Now, here are some tips on how can we lower the bill?
Here’s what you can do. Turn on the unit just to make the room cool. If your unit has a timer, use it. You wouldn’t want sleeping inside a freezing room! Especially for the oldies! Hehe! ,
Its either you set the thermostat on a comfortable cool or lower, remember that the lower thermostat, the lower the electricity consumption. Electric fan can help the cooling circulate the room. Put the Fan on the lowest speed and don’t direct the fan directly to you, direct the fan somewhere else or towards the ceiling or wall where sun heat is present.
Avoid leaving your room door open because they might see you naked! hehehe . If the unit is equipped with timer, use it! hehehe that helps as well! I assure you that you’ll be able to sleep better and more comfortably and at the same time you save on your electricity bill as well.
