Very thankful to the sponsors of DFAT (Davao Food Appreciation Tour) especially to Apo View Hotel for letting us experience the comfort worry free stay at their hotel. I may say that staying at Apo View hotel is a 2 thumbs up! To be honest, security, good customer service and the comfort are my priorities in choosing a good hotel and in my experience with them, I can say, them have it. Comfortable pillows, mattresses and good linens and aside from that, our room is so spacious, equipped with complete room amenities from bathroom to its pantry. One thing I like Apo view hotel room service, they make...

I’ve been to General Santos City several times, and in each visit, I always make sure that I eat in this restaurant. Honestly, I’m not really fond of eating seafood but I don’t know why I keep coming back to this place. I guess it’s because of their great culinary skills when it comes to seafood, which really makes foodies like me enjoy each dining experience here. What are the reasons why I come back in a restaurant? Great Food Freshness of ingredients, especially when it comes to seafood is a big factor. Rina, a friend of mine is allergic to seafood but she loves eating...

Every year, a month before the Holy week, I and my friends usually make church visits to places not really far from the metro. I think this is the only time for us to make a simple road trip with a cause. It is very important to plan the trip before engaging to a road trip. Last year we had the great Churches of Batangas, but this time we made visit to the old amazing churches of Rizal and Laguna. First, in preparation to the trip, we made a research of old churches in Rizal and Laguna Province over the internet and made routes with the help of the online google map. We have to at least 7 or more...

Here’s a brief story about the legend of Pintaflores in San Carlos of Negros Occidental. There were once a Princess who traveled from Cebu to a nearby island now known as San Carlos. Her name is Princess Nabingka. San Carlos used to be called Nabingkalan. The princess is known for her loveliness and intelligence. Princess Nabingka ruled the barrio (Nabingkalan) during the early part of the 17th century. There was a time that the princess got sick and wanted to get her strength back. She sought the advise of a local babaylan or a folk healer and he advised her to tell her people to plant flowers...

I’ve attended several festival and most of them were famous and known to all people over the Philippines. I just hope that Pintaflores of San Carlos City at Negros Occidental would be popular as other famous festival in the Philippines. Colorful flora costumes and props, bright floral paint like tattoos marked on their faces and body, the dancing princess in her magnificent ballgown and aside from that, joyful cheers as trumpets and drumbeats can be heard while they sing, march and dance. The Pintaflores Festival celebrates on the day itself, unlike other festival, they move the dates on the...

Summer time especially holy week is the best time to bond with the family. Why not spend it to a place where everyone can enjoy? Since it’s summer time; and time is gold, I would prefer spending it somewhere near Manila. I would also like to spend time my family away from crowd, especially in common places like Tagaytay or Baguio, they are too common and crowded during peak season. Who would like to spend a vacation to a stress-free, peacful, magnificent place? Yes it’s a lil bit costly to spend time in these kinds of places but worth it. There’s a place that I can recommend,...
