On December 8, Saturday, from 9am to 1pm, at the Maya Kitchen, Cafe Juanita’s Dr. Chef Efren “Boy” Vasquez will be demonstrating and teaching several great recipes for the Filipino Christmas Noche Buena – traditional dishes such as Rellenong Manok, Lengua Estofado, Baked Fresh Salmon with Mayo-Sigang Dressing, Bringhe, Pinoy Ratatoy and Halayang Mangga Tart and Pinsec.
I’m really fascinated that one of my favorite restaurant-cafe will be demonstrating at the Maya Kitchen. The very well known Cafe Juanita, owned by Dr. Chef Efren Vasquez from Barangay San Isidro, Nueva Ecija, is really popular for the recipes that was passed down to him by his grandmother – dishes that he regularly serves in Cafe Juanita.
If you’ve been inside Café Juanita serves, you’ll feel like you’re back in time and you’ll surely be fascinated by the dining experience inside the restaurant. The place has that ancestral home feel with a hodge podge of antique furniture, light fixtures, china, statues, altar pieces and endless knick-knacks.
